Dundee have signed striker Emile Acquah on a three-year deal from Barrow.

The 24-year-old moved to Scotland for an undisclosed fee, with the transfer subject to international clearance.

Acquah came through Southend’s youth academy and also had a spell with Maidenhead before joining Barrow, where he spent two seasons playing in Sky Bet League Two, scoring 16 goals.

“I heard about the interest and I’m happy that it got done quickly,” Acquah said on the club’s website.

“I spoke to the gaffer (Steven Pressley) and he said he had watched me a few times and thinks I can do well in this team and in the league, so it’s an exciting move.

“Coming to Scotland is a good new challenge for me. So far I’ve just played in England and I feel like I want something different.

“I am a big man, but I am good with the ball at my feet. I like to make to runs behind, will always work hard for the team and I am always looking to get goals.”
