Midfielder Dylan Tait says Falkirk will travel to league leaders Hearts confident of causing a cup upset following their performance against Celtic.
The Bairns created a series of first-half chances and were denied by an impressive late stop from Kasper Schmeichel before going down to a 1-0 defeat against the reigning champions on Wednesday.
At the same time Hearts were consolidating their place at the top of the William Hill Premiership with victory over St Mirren but Tait is full of belief ahead of Saturday’s Scottish Gas Scottish Cup fourth-round tie at Tynecastle.
“Obviously we’re a bit disappointed because we lost the game, but in reality it was a really good performance against the champions,” the 24-year-old said.
“Obviously we’ve got another big game Saturday now, so we just need to turn our focus to Hearts and hopefully we can put in another performance like that.
“We’ve arrived at this level and I think you can see game by game everybody’s confidence is just getting more and more. Celtic will come away knowing they were in a game.
“Saturday’s going to be a different game, obviously, at Tynecastle. They won again, so that place will be buzzing.
“If we can perform the way we did in that first half, I think we give ourselves a really good chance in that game to hopefully cause an upset.”
