Odsonne Edouard has said that his focus hasn’t shifted from Celtic despite speculation about his future.
The French striker picked up the Premiership Player of the Month award for January as his impressive season continues.
The 22-year-old has 24 goals to his name already and performances since moving from Paris St Germain have seen Edouard linked with a number of Europe’s top clubs.
Asked how he felt about the talk surrounding him, Edouard said: “It’s very flattering but I have two years left on my contract here at Celtic and that’s it. I want to focus on the club.
“There’s five months left this season. We still have two titles to hopefully win and, once that’s done then we can focus on something else.”
Celtic boss Neil Lennon said there had been no concrete interest in his player but he believes an offer is inevitable.
“We’ve had no enquiries about him but I’m sure somewhere down the line there will be for a player of that calibre,” he said.
“He’s super talented. He’s up there. He could play Premier League or Champions League, no question. At 22 he’s got his whole career in front of him and we hope he gets better and better with us.”
Edouard was happy to reflect on his award and the team’s success rather than talk about a potential exit. And the forward said he was enjoying a “natural” strike partnership with Leigh Griffiths now that the Scotland international had returned to the Celtic side.
“I’m very happy,” he said. “This is my second award of the season and hopefully it will continue like that.
“Personally, I’m feeling good. The fact that the team is doing well reflects on me as well. I’m a striker so my job is to score goals so I feel good about the season.
“It’s working very well. Leigh is a great player and we’re complementing each other well. He can score as well so that works.
“It’s come naturally. It’s not really that we’re working on it but that the more we play together it becomes habit. That’s what we need to be able to deliver.”
