Dundee United winger Amar Fatah has warned Aberdeen “they should be worried” about Tuesday’s trip to Tannadice.
The Dons sit bottom of the Premiership without a league goal and manager Jimmy Thelin is facing added pressure after Saturday’s Premier Sports Cup defeat by Motherwell at Pittodrie.
United come into the game after a free weekend and on the back of two away games where they picked up points.
They almost followed their derby win at Dens Park with victory over Hibernian but were denied by a controversial late penalty in a 3-3 draw.
Giving his thoughts on the visit of Aberdeen, Fatah said: “They should be worried because they are playing a good team. We are Dundee United and they are coming to our home, so they should be worried.
“I’ve missed it, we have played a couple of games away, so I am really happy to be at home again.”
United let slip a two-goal lead at Easter Road but have since had Vicko Sevelj’s red card in the game rescinded.
Fatah, one of 14 summer signings for United, said: “Overall, the team played really well, and not getting three points was maybe a bit unjust. But we will come in more hungry to this game and hopefully we take three points.
“I think we’re a bit underrated but that’s good. When we step on to the field, we shock teams with how good we can really be this season.
“The group of players understand each other very well on the pitch. It’s really nice to be here now.
“There’s much more to come. We are at the beginning right now, we have managed to get to know each other on and off the field well, and it shows on the field. We have a lot more to show.”
The 21-year-old arrived on a season-long loan from French side Troyes with a big reputation.
The Sweden Under-21 international made a £4million move from AIK Stockholm to France several years ago and has had loan spells in Belgium and the Netherlands.
He also featured in several pre-season games for Manchester City in the summer of 2024 in a secondment facilitated by Troyes falling under the City Football Group ownership umbrella.
“For my game, I think I’m getting better and better,” he said. “Against Hibs, I felt more free — I could go wide, I could come in central and also be close to Zac (Sapsford).
“It’s a good environment, good people, I love the fans. I get to show myself how I want. I like to express myself and Dundee United is the best team to be in right now in this league and I’m really happy to be here.”
