Rangers winger Jamie Murphy is set to sign for Burton Albion on loan until the end of the season, STV can reveal.
Steven Gerrard is keen for Murphy to get more game time and we understand the 30-year-old is poised to join the English League One club.
Rangers signed the attacker from Brighton in the summer of 2018, but Murphy suffered a knee ligament injury early last season which ruled him out for the rest of the campaign.
If the deal were to go through, Murphy would be reunited with Nigel Clough, his manager when he played for Sheffield United.
The Brewers sit sixth in the table and hope to lure the forward to boost their pursuit of promotion to the Championship.
Ibrox boss Gerrard is keen to trim his squad. Eros Grezda has left for Osijek, while Greg Docherty is set to move to Sunderland or Charlton Athletic on loan until the end of the season.
