Livingston manager David Martindale believes Mahamadou Susoho has learned his lesson and made his peace with team-mates after an angry reaction to being substituted against Dundee.
The 20-year-old on-loan Manchester City midfielder was taken off just after the hour mark with Premiership bottom club Livi trailing by two goals. His team-mates fought back to claim a 2-2 draw.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s trip to face St Mirren, Martindale said in a club video: “A young player learns his lesson, he’s here to make mistakes.
“Moses made his peace with the group, he’s a young player and he’s going to make mistakes, and it’s not something that we tolerate, it’s not something that’s going to be tolerated.
“But you’ve got to look at it as a young player that was fully frustrated about coming off the park. But he’s got to channel that frustration in a different way. And I’m sure it’s something he’ll learn from.
“I always think, for a player to get to the top, top level, they’ve got to have a bit of selfishness about them. You’re not going to get to the top of your game without having that individual desire, that individual belief that you can do it.
“But as soon as you step over that white line, the name on the front always means more than the name on the back. And it’s probably that fine line and it’s the learning curve from that, and it’s what you get with younger players.
“I’m delighted that he was angry at coming off the park, but I’m really disappointed in his reaction and his behaviour when he came off the park.
“But again, he’s a young player and I’m here to guide him as well, I’m here to coach, monitor, guide.
“I think the players have accepted Mo’s apology.”
Livi head to Paisley with their opponents St Mirren still celebrating Premier Sports Cup final success.
Martindale said: “Going to Paisley is a difficult game of football whenever you’re going there.”
