Dumbarton manager Jim Duffy recovering after heart attack

Dumbarton manager Jim Duffy is recovering after suffering a heart attack at the weekend.

The 61-year-old, who also regularly appears as a broadcast pundit, was taken to hospital in Glasgow after suffering chest pains.

The League One side sent get well wishes on their social media, saying: “Everybody at Dumbarton FC sends our very best wishes to our manager Jim Duffy for a full and speedy recovery.”

Duffy’s former clubs and Scottish football personalities past and present have been amongst those wishing the manager well.

All at Partick Thistle were shocked to learn that former Jag Jim Duffy had been admitted to hospital for treatment following a heart attack.

Duffy has been involved in Scottish football for more than 40 years, including five spells at Dundee as player and manager.

He has also managed Hibernian and spent a short spell as caretaker manager of English side Norwich.

After four years in charge at Greenock Morton, he joined Dumbarton in 2018.
