Dens Park is set for the season’s first Dundee derby as both of the city’s big clubs search for their first league win of the campaign.
Dundee United make the short journey across the road to take on Steven Pressley’s men on Sunday.
After a 2-1 defeat to Hibernian in the opening weekend, Dundee have followed that up with two impressive away draws against Rangers at Ibrox and Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.
Meanwhile, Jim Goodwin’s men, who have only played two league games after last weekend’s fixture was postponed, started with a 2-2 draw at Falkirk before losing 3-2 at home to Hearts.
The first derby of last season ended in a draw at Tannadice.
United followed that up with a 2-1 win at Dundee, but the dark blues got their revenge soon after by dumping the Arabs out of the Scottish Cup.
Dundee then won 4-2 at Tannadice to make it two wins, a draw and one defeat in the four games against their neighbours.
A win for the home team on Sunday would put them four points ahead of their city rivals in the Premiership table and be a welcome boost for Steven Pressley’s men, who were many people’s tip for relegation before a ball was kicked.
