Hampden will be full as Scotland take on Israel in Saturday’s crucial World Cup qualifier – where a win will go a long way to improving our chances of reaching Qatar 2022.
Here, in pictures, we take a look back at some of the moments Scottish goals sent a packed national stadium into a frenzy.
James McFadden v Holland: Euro 2004 play-off

Steven Pressley leaps highest as the Scotland team piles on James McFadden to celebrate his strike against Holland. It was the only goal of the game in a famous win, but the joy turned to misery as the Scots went down 6-0 in the second leg in Amsterdam. SNS Group
Gary Caldwell v France: Euro 2008 qualifiers

Another famous 1-0 win for Scotland was secured when Gary Caldwell slid home to send the Tartan Army into raptures. Scotland also won by the same scoreline in Paris, but failed to reach the Euros. SNS Group
Lee McCulloch v Ukraine: Euro 2008 qualifiers
Lee McCulloch earns a bear bug from James McFadden after putting Scotland 2-0 up against Ukraine, en route to a 3-1 win. It put Scotland on course for a place at Euro 2008, but defeats to Georgia and Italy meant Alex McLeish’s side fell just short.
Darren Fletcher v Czech Republic: Euro 2012 qualifiers
SNS Group
Darren Fletcher is a picture of pure delight after putting Scotland 2-1 up in the 82nd minute of a must-win qualifier against Czech Republic. But these jubilant scenes soon turned to despair as the visitors equalised late on. SNS Group
Leigh Griffiths v England: World Cup 2018 qualifiers
SNS Group
One of the most memorable moments in a generation at Hampden as Leigh Griffiths celebrates his second free-kick goal in a matter of minutes against England. Scotland led 2-1 going into injury-time but fell short again when Harry Kane levelled at the death. SNS Group
Chris Martin v Slovakia: World Cup 2018 qualifiers
SNS Group
Scotland’s hopes of reaching the World Cup were reawakened when Chris Martin notched a late winner (or was it an own goal?) against Slovakia. But a subsequent draw (2-2 again) in Slovenia later killed off those chances. SNS Group
