From Wick to Berwick, there will be a feast of football across the country on Saturday during the first round of the Scottish Cup.
Clubs from the north, south, east and west league set-ups will unite – all sharing the same dream of reaching Hampden next May.
Formerly accessible to just a handful of ‘non-league’ sides, the tournament opened its doors a bit wider in the 2007/08 season, when four junior clubs were allowed to take part.
Here, in pictures, we take a look back at one of the first ties to feature the juniors, when Linlithgow Rose travelled south to thrash Newton Stewart 6-0.
Rose proved their worth to the Scottish Cup by reaching the fourth round, where they fell to Championship side Queen of the South.
