Jimmy Thelin hopes Aberdeen’s recent resurgence will serve them well as they prepare to head to Greece for their latest UEFA Conference League challenge.
The Pittodrie side take on AEK Athens on Thursday night, looking to make it three wins in succession after victories over Dundee and St Mirren.
The Dons left it late to secure their first league win in Paisley since in 2018, Marko Lazetic claiming his first goal for the club in the six minute of added time.
Thelin believes the atmosphere around the whole club is improving with every passing performance.
The Swede said: “I think every manager or player wants to be in Europe. And I think it’s important to be ready for this competition because you need to play a lot of games.
“And you also need to know how to travel, how to recover and how to perform again. All these players want to achieve something and be better in the future. I like this challenge but we need to recover now and focus, and use this energy we’re creating.
“It’s still early in the season, even when we were struggling at times. We have a lot of new players and we try to focus on the things we can control. The way we train, the way we grow as a team and grow as individuals. We can improve the team.
“We create what we want to do. And, I think in the end, if you keep doing it and perform better and better. In the end, you get what you deserve.
“Some things we still have to improve. But the way they work for each other… that’s what we need, this team spirit and the connection with our fans. Our fans have been here every game, even in the start when we weren’t scoring goals or winning points. That connection is so, so important.”
