SNS GroupNew Celtic chief executive Dom McKay will join the club this month – ten weeks earlier than planned.
The current chief operating officer of Scottish Rugby and chairman of the Pro14 will leave next Friday before joining the Parkhead club the following Monday.
The 42-year-old will then take over from outgoing chief executive Peter Lawwell on July 1.
His early switch comes as Celtic close in on appointing a new manager to replace Neil Lennon, who left earlier this year.
Former Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is the hot favourite to take control, with Celtic also set to appoint a new director of football as the club undergoes a restructuring.
Celtic said: “Peter Lawwell continues in his role as chief executive officer and board member until June 30.
“Dom will join the club from April 19, working with Peter and the executive team to ensure a smooth transition, until Dom takes on the role of chief executive officer and board member on July 1.”
Scottish Rugby said: “Dom McKay will leave the organisation on Friday, April 16.
“As previously announced Dom leaves to join Celtic FC, with Scottish Rugby’s best wishes for this new chapter in his career.”
