Partick Thistle came out the victors in their top-of-the-table clash with St Johnstone, closing the gap to three points with a 2-1 win.

Thistle opened the scoring early on through a close-range finish from Daniel O’Reilly, before Tony Watt doubled their lead just before half-time.

A deflected effort from Josh McPake 70 minutes in gave St Johnstone hope however it was not enough, with Thistle now closer to the leaders and with a game in hand.

Dunfermline made it three games unbeaten with a 1-0 win at home to Greenock Morton.

Dunfermline went 1-0 up courtesy of a Charlie Gilmour header 15 minutes in, with the home side now a point outside of the play-offs.

Elsewhere, Ayr United managed their first win in six as they came away from the Albert Bartlett Stadium with three points after beating Airdrieonians 1-0

Ayr scored the only goal of the afternoon in the 19th minute through a Mark McKenzie finish which proved to be the winner for The Honest Men.

Ayr’s Marco Rus was shown a second yellow just before the hour mark however Airdrieonians were not able to capitalise on the extra-man advantage.

In the day’s other game, Arbroath and Raith Rovers shared the points after an uneventful 0-0 draw.

Neither team managed to break the deadlock at Gayfield Park in a quiet contest that left both teams having to settle for just the one point and Raith looking at a four-game winless run.
