Scot Gemmill has challenged Scotland Under-21s to show the same “attacking intent” in Gibraltar on Saturday that brought them a record victory over the minnows last month.

The young Scots romped to a 12-0 win in their European Championship qualifier in Dundee, and the head coach is hoping they can be similarly ruthless in their rematch at the Europa Point Stadium.

“We’re expecting a real challenge from Gibraltar, and it is important we approach the game with the correct mindset,” said Gemmill.

“It will be a very different game here in Gibraltar compared to the match in Dundee, where we performed to a high level.

“I was really pleased with the attacking intent shown in Dundee but also the team’s attitude in how they approached the game, and we’ll be looking to ensure we face this tie in the same manner.”

Scotland are currently fourth in Group B behind Portugal, Czechia and Bulgaria, with just one win from their four matches so far.

Ipswich pair Woody Williamson and Ryan Carr, Dunfermline duo Andrew Tod and Barney Stewart and Aberdeen’s Dylan Lobban were recently added to the squad after Rory Mahady, Matthew Anderson and Daniel Kelly dropped out through injury. Wolves winger Ethan Sutherland and St Johnstone’s Taylor Steven – on loan at Arbroath – are also in contention for a debut.

Dire Mebude and Jeremiah Mullen are suspended after being sent off in the 3-3 draw with Azerbaijan last month.
