Steve Clarke is hopeful Kieran Tierney will return to the Scotland team to play England on Friday.
The manager also welcomed the return of the Tartan Army to Hampden for their Euro 2020 opener against Czech Republic.
12,000 fans have been allowed into the national stadium.
Speaking ahead of the game, he told the BBC: “It’s brilliant, a great atmosphere in the stadium.
“It’s fantastic to have the Tartan Army back, in small numbers, but I am sure they are going to make a hell of a noise.”
On the Arsenal defender’s absence, Clarke confirmed he picked up a knock during the week.
He said: “Kieran picked up a little niggle throughout the week in training so he is not ready for this one but hopefully ready for the next one.”
QPR forward Lyndon Dykes leads the line and the manager said he deserved his place after recent performances.
Clarke said: “I think looking back on the game we won against Czech last year and Lyndon played and he was a very influential player in the game, he gives us a good target up front.”
