Former Rangers, Kilmarnock and Hearts forward Kyle Lafferty has signed for Johnstone Burgh.

The 35-year-old, who also has 85 caps for Northern Ireland, completed a move to the West of Scotland League side on Wednesday.

He most recently had a short spell at Linfield after leaving Kilmarnock last season.

As the signing was announced, manager Jamie McKinn said: “I’m delighted Kyle has chosen to join us, we met him several times to try and sell the project to him and I’m delighted he has bought into it.

“He will be huge on and off the pitch for us this season and I can’t wait to see him in action.”

The experienced striker, who has also played in England, Italy, Turkey, Norway, Switzerland and Cyprus, was banned for ten games last season after footage emerged of him aiming sectarian abuse towards a Celtic fan in a nightclub.

Johnstone Burgh will be his 16th club during an 18-year career that has seen him win three top flight titles with Rangers.

He played 12 Premiership games for Kilmarnock last season.
