Hamilton appeal SFA’s decision over director Gerry Strain

Hamilton say they have appealed against a decision to rule sole director Gerry Strain is not a fit and proper person to hold a position in football.

But Accies will not challenge the Scottish Football Association’s same ruling on owner Seref Zengin.

Meanwhile, Accies have commented on reports that Police Scotland were investigating a fraud complaint relating to the club.

A club statement read: “We consider it important to note that this investigation does not involve any current director or employee of the club, and that the investigation arose due to Mr Strain reporting certain circumstances to Police Scotland upon them coming to his attention.

“As there is an ongoing investigation by Police Scotland, we do not consider it appropriate to make any further comment.”
