Hearts v Celtic team news: Derek McInnes and Brendan Rodgers name sides for top of the table clashSNS Group

Derek McInnes and Brendan Rodgers have named their starting line-ups for the top-of-the-table clash between Hearts and Celtic.

The sides meet at Tynecastle with the hosts holding a five-point lead over the defending champions at the top of the table, and hoping to lay down a marker in the title race.

The ambitious Edinburgh side are hoping to capitalise on what has been an unconvincing start to the season from Celtic, and open up an eight-point gap at the top.

Celtic are aiming to build on a midweek Europa League win over Strum Graz and build momentum after a start that has seen the team fail to find their best form off the park, and with the board under fire from angry supporters.

Rodgers has already made clear his frustration over the level of summer transfer activity, and he now has further selection headaches after injury to a trio of players. Cameron Carter-Vickers has been ruled out for up to five months with an Achilles injury, while Alistair Johnston and Kelechi Iheanacho both came off against Graz with hamstring issues.

That’s meant changes to his starting line-up for Sunday’s Premiership match, with youngsters Dane Murray, Colby Donovan and Johnny Kenny coming into the side.

Kasper Schmeichel is in goal, with Kieran Tierney, Liam Scales, Murray and Donovan in defence.

Reo Hatate, captain Callum McGregor and Arne Engels are in midfield, while Sebastian Younekti and Benjamin Nygren are either side of striker Kenny.

Derek McInnes has named an unchanged side from the team that beat Kilmarnock at Rugby Park last week.

Alexander Schwolow starts in goal behind a back line of Stephen Kingsley, Stuart Findlay, Craig Halkett and Oisin McEntee.

Alexandros Kyziridis, Cammy Devlin, Beni Baningime and Harry Milne are in midfield, with captain Lawrence Shankland and Claudio Braga in attack.
