Ewan Henderson has completed a move from Celtic to Hibernian, becoming Shaun Maloney’s second signing at Easter Road.
Henderson joins the Edinburgh club on loan initially but will become a permanent signing in the summer after agreeing a three-year deal.
The attacking midfielder, who came off the bench and scored against Real Betis in the Europa League this season, came through Celtic’s youth system and is known to Maloney from his time as a coach at the club.
“Ewan is an extremely talented player,” Maloney said. “He has superb awareness and vision, he’s creative and will provide assists.
“He’s a player I really want to help to develop so he can show the league the talent he has.
“As a club, we look forward to helping Ewan develop so he can achieve his potential over the coming years.”
Henderson, the younger brother of Empoli midfielder Liam, made his Celtic debut in 2018 and has had loan spells at Ross County and Dunfermline Athletic. He has been capped by Scotland at Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 level.
He follows striker Elias Melkersen in moving to Easter Road, with the club saying both fit their signing model. Hibs say they are intent on “signing young, hungry players that meet the new vision of the club, to play forward-thinking, attack-minded football”.
