Hibernian have completed the signing of former Spurs and QPR midfielder Luke Amos.

The 26-year-old, who was a free agent, has been training with the Easter Road club and impressed head coach Nick Montgomery while on trial.

That persuaded the club to hand Amos an 18-month contract and he becomes the latest recruit in what’s been a busy transfer window for the club.

Six players have left Hibs on loan since the window opened, and Amos follows Myziane Maolida and Emiliano Marcondes in joining the club.

Hibs boss Montgomery said: “Luke found himself not signing with anyone at the start of the season, which can happen, but he got himself back fit training with Tottenham’s Under-23s and he’s hungry to push on his career.

“He’s a quality midfielder with years of experience in the English Championship and at 26 he has his best years ahead of him.

“When I initially spoke to Luke about him coming to the club, it was important for him to come to Hibs and feel that it was the right place for him to continue his football journey.

“He will add competition for places, and he has fit straight into the group dynamic.

“He will add real depth to our midfield and will help our push for this second half of the season. We are all looking forward to working with him.”

Amos made his debut for Spurs in 2018 after coming through the club’s academy and later moved to QPR after a successful loan spell. He has made over 100 career appearances and, though he has been without a club, trained with Tottenham Under-23s to keep his fitness up after an injury.
