Stand-in skipper Rocky Bushiri has no worries about Hibernian’s progress being derailed by their narrow defeat at home to Rangers on Wednesday.
The Hibees were buoyed by back-to-back wins over Livingston and Aberdeen that had lifted them to third place in the William Hill Premiership, but they fell short in a frustrating 1-0 home loss against the Gers.
After being leapfrogged by Danny Rohl’s side, defender Bushiri is confident Hibs will bounce back away to Livi this Saturday.
“We wanted three wins on the spin and to continue the form, but it wasn’t meant to be,” he said. “We go again.
“The confidence is fine. The chances are there. We have good players and lots of options, so I feel confident, even with the players coming off the bench.
“There is nothing to worry about because the chances are there. But the reality of football is you need to score and avoid conceding.
“We have to go again because Saturday is an opportunity to get back to winning.
“We have built a mentality of going again and again and again. It’s important to keep going.”
Bushiri, who has been at Hibs for almost four years, was delighted to be captain on Wednesday, with Joe Newell and Warren O’Hora both injured and Martin Boyle starting on the bench.
“It’s an honour and a pleasure,” he said. “I’ve been here four years and I’m one who has played among the most games for the club. It doesn’t change me as a person though.”
