The biggest-ever World Cup sticker book from Panini will cost fans more than ever to complete, with nearly 1,000 stickers required.

The official sticker collection, on sale from Thursday, will give fans a rare challenge of collecting 980 unique stickers across 112 pages to complete.

The 48-team World Cup in North America this summer is the biggest ever, with Scotland in the tournament for the first time since 1998.

Collectors aiming to complete the set, however, face a significant outlay this year, as a packet of seven stickers, up from five per pack in previous editions, costs £1.25.

Multipacks are also available, including 100 packets for £125.

Fans with the best luck of packing zero duplicates in each pack they open would pay around £175 to complete it. However, the chances of that are nigh on impossible.

According to Reuters, statistically, more than 1,000 packets may be required to acquire every player in the album, representing an outlay of around £1,000.

Collectables continue to be a booming market, with a 1979 Panini sticker of Maradona sold for £470,000 at auction in 2021.

The first collection was launched by the Italian company for the 1970 World Cup tournament in Mexico.

Scotland fans will be excited to get their hands on the likes of John McGinn, Scott McTominay and Andy Robertson’s cards ahead of the tournament, with 19 Scots players available.

The Scots face Haiti and Morocco in Boston before taking on Brazil in the final group stage game.

Panini says it will be hosting a live ‘swap shop’ in May around the UK to give collectors the chance to find the cards they need.

Panini’s biggest collection was launched at a special event at Wembley Stadium on Tuesday. Another event was held at Hampden on Wednesday.

The Panini World Cup 2026 sticker album is available across Scotland in major retailers, including Asda, Tesco, the Co-Op, and local newsagents.
