James Forrest scored a hat-trick to help Celtic beat Hibernian 6-1 and become only the 30th player in the club’s history to score 100 goals for the Hoops.
The long serving winger was the difference between the sides with Giorgos Giakoumakis also on the scoresheet twice as the champions go five points clear of Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
Daizen Maeda scored the other and completed the rout at Celtic Park on Saturday.
Forrest scored the opener on his 451st appearance for the club as the long serving winger made his return to the starting line-up.
He turned a Haksabanovic cross into the bottom corner on the 9th minute as the Hoops looked to put Tuesday night’s Champions League defeat behind them.
Last season’s top scorer Giorgos Giakoumakis was then on the scoresheet for his 4th goal of the season to make it 2-0 soon after.
Forrest then had goal number 99 for the club when David Marshall failed to keep his close-range volley from crossing the line to make it 3-0 on the 24th minute.
Ellie Youhan brought one back for the Edinburgh side in the second half after being brought on as a sub at half-time.
But any hope of a comeback was short-lived as 31-year-old Forrest secured a hat-trick and a place in the Celtic history books with his 100th goal since making his debut as a teenager in 2010.
Since his goal-scoring debut in a win over Motherwell 12 years ago, he has scored in every season since and won 20 trophies including ten league titles.
Giakoumakis then made it five when his deflected shot flew past Marshall with 20 minutes left and Japan forward Maeda completed the scoring to make that 6-1 with only a minute left.
Rangers have a chance to cut the gap back to two points when they play Motherwell at Fir Park on Sunday afternoon.
