Jim Goodwin says he has been “inundated” with players interested in joining Dundee United in the January transfer window.
The manager has credited recent performances with making Tannadice an attractive place for potential new signings.
United are currently sitting third in the Premiership, seven points behind second placed Rangers and ahead of fourth place Aberdeen on goal-difference, after 22 games.
With a month to bolster their squad for the second-half of the campaign, Goodwin is happy that new recruits are keen to join.
He said: “We are working on trying to get players in, similar to just about every other manager out there I’d imagine, we all want to strengthen for the second half of the campaign.
“We always want to end the transfer window stronger than when it started, it’s not about trying to replace anyone in the squad – it’s just about trying to add quality and to ease the pressure of the workload on the players that we have.
“So we are working really hard behind the scenes to add at least one, potentially two new faces, to the group that we have to make sure we are in a strong position going into the end of the season.
“I’ve been on the phone with agents regularly, and with my chief scout, discussing the options that are available to us and I am confident that we will be able to add to the squad in this window.
“Our performances this season can absolutely help us attract players and I think that is what we are all hoping for, we are an attractive proposition for a lot of agents and players, you’re not asking someone to come in and be part of a relegation dogfight where confidence is low, you’re asking them to come into a place where confidence is high and a really positive culture.
“We have been inundated with requests from agents and from players, it’s now just about us going through that list and making sure we identify the right characters and the players with the right ability to strengthen us.”
