Dundee United boss Jim Goodwin is delighted by how quickly his revamped team has gelled, and believes there’s more to come after a promising start to the season.
Goodwin brought in 14 new signings over the summer, from a range of different football cultures, and saw the team acquit themselves well in Europe before elimination from the Conference League.
The Premiership campaign has seen a derby win and plenty of goals so far, with Goodwin impressed by how together the side looks despite so many changes.
“I think we’re scratching the surface at the moment,” he said. “Obviously, we’ve still got a number of big players who are out through injury, and once we get the majority of those boys back in, and a bit more competition in the team, I think we’ll be a far better squad for it.
“I couldn’t be any happier with how quickly the group has gelled. It’s always a concern for any manager when you sign new players, particularly the volume we have signed.
“Sometimes it takes a little time for others to adapt, but I couldn’t be any more pleased with how this group of players have bonded, and the relationships that have been built throughout the team.
“I think it shows on a matchday, which is the most important thing.”
