Josh Doig called up as Steve Clarke names Scotland squad for Euro 2024 qualifiers against Georgia and Norway

Steve Clarke has revealed his Scotland squad for the remaining Euro 2024 qualifiers, with Hellas Verona full-back Josh Doig among those called up.

Scotland have already secured their place at next year’s finals in Germany but still have an outside chance of winning the group, or becoming the best second-placed team in the qualifiers and improving their seeding in the draw.

Clarke will take his squad to Georgia for the match on November 16 before taking on Norway at Hampden in the final qualifying game three days later.

The national team boss has been deprived of some keen players due to injury but has named a strong squad for the upcoming games.

Captain Andy Robertson is out after shoulder surgery, while hamstring issues have sidelined Aaron Hickey and Kieran Tierney. That left Clarke short of options on the left-side of his team.

Doig has been promoted from the Under-21s to help and the uncapped defender returns to the squad for the first time since September last year.

Right-back Anthony Ralston has also been recalled to add to Clarke’s choices at the back.

First choice goalkeeper Angus Gunn is also out but Robby McCrorie comes in to compete with Zander Clark and Liam Kelly for the starting spot.
