Partick Thistle have announced they have parted company with experienced striker Kenny Miller.

Miller had been at the Firhill club since June of last year, having been signed by former Thistle manager Gary Caldwell.

The former Scotland striker has scored ten goals this season but now leaves Thistle with the club in ninth position in the Championship table, just one point off bottom.

It’s not known if the 40-year-old will now retire or if he will find another club. As a free agent, the forward would be able to sign for any club after the transfer window closes next week.

Thistle manager Ian McCall told the club’s website: “Kenny’s footballing CV speaks for itself and while at Firhill he has displayed the same commitment and drive and set the same standards for himself as he has throughout his career.

“He’s scored some important goals for us this season, most notably at Inverness and Dundee, which could prove crucial at the end of the season. We part on good terms and thank Kenny as well as wishing him only the best for the future.”

Miller said: “I’ve really enjoyed my time at Firhill and would like to thank both Gary and Ian, all the coaching staff, backroom team, my teammates and, of course, the fans for their support.

“I wish the club the best of luck for the rest of the season and beyond – hopefully Thistle are back in the top-flight soon.”
