Kilmarnock have won the deadline day race to sign Kevin van Veen as the former Motherwell striker makes a return to Scotland six-months after leaving Fir Park.
The 32-year-old Groningen forward has joined the Rugby Park club on loan until the end of the season.
He scored 29 goals for the Steelmen last season and will represent a significant boost to Derek McInnes’ side for the remainder of the campaign.
Motherwell and St Mirren were also in the race for Van Veen in the deadline day battle but Kilmarnock have won the race.
The deal was confirmed just over an hour before the window slammed shut on Thursday night.
A statement from Kilmarnock said: “Kilmarnock Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Kevin Van Veen.
“The experienced striker has joined on loan from FC Groningen until the end of the season, pending approval.
“The 32-year-old sealed a move to the Dutch side after a sensational 29-goal campaign at Motherwell last season.
“Everyone at Kilmarnock would like to wish Kevin a very warm welcome.”
Van Veen has scored five goals in 15 games for the Eerste divisie club this season after joining in the summer.
Kilmarnock play Motherwell at Fir Park when they return to Premiership action on Saturday.
The Rugby Park side are currently in fourth place in the top-flight and sit three points ahead of St Mirren who are in fifth.
