Kilmarnock are set to appoint Derek McInnes as their new manager.

A deal is being finalised for McInnes to take over at Rugby Park with an announcement possible on Tuesday.

The 50-year-old will take over from Tommy Wright, who was sacked last month, after Killie suffered four defeats in their last five matches.

It’s understood long-term assistant to McInnes Tony Docherty will also join the Rugby Park club.

McInnes has been out of work since leaving Aberdeen in March, where he spent eight years in Pittodrie.

Kilmarnock currently sit fourth in the Championship, five points behind leaders Arbroath with a game in hand.
