Kyogo Furuhashi has completed his transfer from Celtic to Rennes, the clubs have announced.
The Japanese striker has signed for the Ligue 1 side, after completing a medical in France.
Kyogo had told Celtic earlier this season of his wish to move on and find a new challenge.
The move ends a successful three-and-a-half year spell with the Scottish champions, with the forward winning eight major trophies and scoring 85 goals in 165 games.
Kyogo was one of Ange Postecoglou’s first signings as Celtic manager, known to the Australian from his time in Japan’s J-League.
He scored 12 league goals in the 2021/22 season as Celtic turned around a poor start to win the Premiership, and netted three times in the League Cup, including a double in the final to seal a win over Hibs.
In his second season in Scotland, the Japanese scored 27 Premiership goals to help his side to the title. He scored another League Cup final double in his side’s victory over Rangers and also found the net in the Scottish Cup final as Celtic completed the treble. He was named as PFA and SWFA Player of the Year.
The following season, under Brendan Rodgers, he scored 19 goals in 50 games, including Champions League goals against Lazio and Atletico Madrid.
This term, the forward had continued his regular goalscoring with ten Premiership goals and a Champions League goal against Slovan Bratislava. His last match for the team was in Wednesday’s win over Young Boys, which secured the side a place in the knock-out stages of the competition.
