Jamie Brandon is enjoying the winning feeling in the Championship with Livingston but his sights are firmly set on the top flight.
Livi were relegated last season after finishing bottom of the table with five wins and 25 points.
The Lions regrouped and David Martindale’s side have already won the SPFL Trust Trophy and go into the final Championship fixture of the season level on points with leaders Falkirk, albeit John McGlynn’s side have a goal difference of eight in their favour.
Livingston host Partick Thistle on Friday night while the Bairns take on Hamilton.
Former Hearts defender Brandon said: “Obviously there’s a difference, especially against the top four teams in the Premiership, you feel you’re just kind of hanging into games and trying to kind of nick a goal and defending for your lives at most points.
“But I feel this season with the squad we’ve got and the style we play we’ve tried to implement, we’ve had real control in games and I think the squad’s really enjoyed that change.
“When you you’re winning games, you’re in a better mood and the place’s got a better feeling about it than it does if you’re kind of struggling at the bottom the league. So, yeah, I think it does make a difference.
“Success for us is getting promoted this year and we’ve obviously had the cup final, which we managed to win, so that was nice.
“But our goal at the start of year was to get ourselves back to the Premiership, whether that be automatic promotion or through the play-offs.
“We need to get three points and then if we do that, we give ourselves an opportunity.”
A point would be enough for Thistle to seal the final play-off place, unless Raith Rovers produce a four-goal win against Queen’s Park.
