Livingston manager David Martindale is delighted to have activated a contract extension for “immense” attacker Joel Nouble.
The 27-year-old’s initial deal was due to expire at the end of this season, but the Lions have triggered the option of an extra year, meaning he is now committed to the West Lothian club until the summer of 2024.
Martindale feels Nouble, who joined Livi from Aldershot in the summer of 2021 before spending half a season on loan at Arbroath, has developed into one of the best all-round forwards in Scotland.
“He has been immense for us this season and he is a player who brings a lot to the team on and off the park,” Martindale told the Lions’ website.
“I genuinely think he has been one of the best offensive players in the league this season and brings far more to the team than just goals and his all-round game this season has really kicked on.
“He gives me great options in the offensive areas as he can play a seven, nine or 11 with no detrimental impact on his performance.
“Joel is a player we should all enjoy as much as we can as we are lucky to have him and it’s great knowing we have extended his contract to protect the club.
“He will play a huge part in the games going forward and hopefully help the club make a strong finish to the season.”
