Livingston roared to victory in the SPFL Challenge Cup final, dispatching Queen’s Park 5-0 to seal their first silverware in a decade.

Livi last lifted the trophy in 2015 and turned the showpiece into a demolition as five different scorers put their fellow Championship side to the sword.

Jerome Prior made a strong early save to deny Queen’s Park’s Zak Rudden and, when Robbie Muirhead lashed home a powerful finish in the 26th minute, the rout was set in motion.

David Martindale’s side doubled their lead just before half-time through Stevie May, who provided the finishing touch after a neat move with Tete Yengi.

The Australian forward effectively settled matters when he grabbed the third from the edge of the area five minutes into the second period.

The chances continued to flow but the scoreline only moved in one direction, former Scotland international Andrew Shinnie with number four after accepting a big deflection.

The celebrations were already under way when Jamie Brandon capped things off in stoppage time, smashing in an emphatic shot to make it a five-star night for the West Lothian outfit.
