Lyall Cameron is looking for Dundee to keep the cinch Premiership points tally ticking over when Ross County visit on Saturday.

The 20-year-old midfielder enjoyed the commendable goalless draw against Hibernian at Easter Road last week which meant only one defeat in the last five for the newly-promoted Tayside club, albeit three draws are in included in that sequence.

Dundee are ninth in the table but one of four clubs – including the Staggies – on seven points, with bottom side St Johnstone four points off the pace.

Scotland Under-21 player Cameron said: “There’s a lot of positives to take.

“Obviously, the main thing was competing early, getting some points on the board early and we’ve done that so I think we just need to keep believing in ourselves and add a few more wins.

“Obviously, quite a few draws, a couple games we should have won that we never, but it just shows that we are competing at this level.

“You want to get as many points on the board as early as you can just so later on in the season you’re not scrapping for wins.

“So if you can kind of get out of the relegation zone early and distance yourself from that pack at the bottom then you can aim for top six and I don’t see why we shouldn’t be doing that.

“The last game was good. It was a very solid performance from the whole team. We started the game plan really well. I think it’s just good again for us to prove to ourselves that we can compete at this level.

“Obviously Hibs are a really good side on a good form so to go there and get a good result – we could have won in the end but they had chances as well.

“But still a good result and yeah, looking forward to this weekend.

“Ross County will be well organised. They’re a good side. They’ve had a decent start as well so it’s a big game.

“We are at home so we should have that advantage behind us but I think it’s a big game for both teams to try and get another win on the board.”
