Rangers will travel to Armenia for the second leg of their Europa League play-off with a slim advantage after beating Alashkert 1-0 at Ibrox.
The Ibrox side were reduced to ten men just before half-time when summer signing John Lundstram was sent off after picking up a second yellow card.
Despite being down to ten men, Steven Gerrard’s side scored the only goal of the game after 67 minutes.
James Tavernier played in Alfredo Morelos and the Colombian striker waited for Alashkert keeper Ognen Cancarevic to commit before placing a low show between his legs an into the back of the net.
If Rangers avoid defeat in the return leg next Thursday, the Scottish champions will progress to the group stage of the Europa League.
