Motherwell have received an official approach from French side Toulouse for manager Jens Berthel Askou.
STV Sport understands talks are ongoing between the Steelmen and the Ligue 1 side, but that nothing has been agreed yet.
Askou led the Fir Park side to their best finish in the Scottish Premiership in over a decade.
They finished fourth in the league and have earned guaranteed European football next season.
The 43-year-old has emerged as a potential successor to Martin O’Neill at Celtic, with the Hoops legend in charge until the end of this season after securing a historic title.
Toulouse’s head coach, Carles Martínez Novell, is set to leave at the end of the season after three years at the club.
Askou joined Motherwell in the summer of last year, replacing Michael Wimmer, who quit after three months in the post.
