Motherwell have announced the signing of striker Esapa Osong on loan from Nottingham Forest.

Osong moves to Fir Park for the season to bolster manager Jens Berthel Askou’s attacking options.

The 20-year-old has played for Forest’s first team, playing against Manchester United in the EFL Cup in 2023, and has recently had loan spells with Rotherham United and Cambridge United. He’s now aiming to make an impact in the Premiership and help deliver success.

“This is an incredible opportunity for me,” Osong said.

“I’m eager to demonstrate my abilities. I’m thankful for the chance to join this club, compete in a challenging league, and contribute to the team’s success.

“The manager has outlined his expectations, and now it’s my responsibility to deliver. I’ve heard that a large crowd will be traveling to the game tomorrow, and I can’t wait to experience the atmosphere in the stadium.”

Motherwell boss Askou said: “Esapa is a young and highly talented forward that Nick Daws has been tracking for some time.

“Powerful and athletic, he has consistently impressed at academy level with his productivity and eye-catching performances.

“With his combination of speed, strength, and technical ability, Esapa has the potential to be a real challenge for any defender in the league. We’re excited to welcome him on board and look forward to helping him unlock the full potential he possesses.”
