Nick Montgomery is aiming to to build a more energetic team as he looks for new recruits that will add strength in depth to his squad.
The Hibernian manager is keen to bring in players this month and get his side back to winning ways after a pre-break wobble last month.
They return to action this weekend to play Forfar in the Scottish Cup after a two-week winter break before hosting Rangers in Edinburgh four days later when the Premiership restarts for the second half of the season.
Hibs currently sit in sixth place following a run of three defeats and a draw from their last five league games before the winter shutdown.
They lost to Celtic, Hearts and St Johnstone before drawing 2-2 with Motherwell in their first game of 2024 with their only win in the last five coming at bottom club Livingston.
Montgomery is hoping to use the last couple of weeks of the transfer window to bolster his squad for the games ahead.
Speaking on Monday, he said: “We are working hard to try and find the right players, I think it’s difficult to put any number on it, but what we do know is that we are light in a couple of areas.
“I am hoping that we will see a more energetic team that will have more strength in depth and players that can come off the bench and make an impact, so that’s what I am hoping we will have for the second part of the season.”
