Nicolas Kuhn hailed Celtic’s victory over St Mirren and insisted it was the perfect tonic to put their defeat to Rangers behind them.
The Hoops increased their lead at the top of the Premiership to 13 points with a 3-0 win over Stephen Robinson’s men in Parkhead on Sunday.
Coming just three days after losing by the same scoreline at Ibrox on Thursday, the German winger said it was important they got back to winning ways quickly.
Kuhn opened the scoring in the first-half before making it three in the second as he continued his excellent form in his first full season at Celtic Park.
Speaking after the game, he said: “We had to show a reaction after the last game. And we did.
“I’m happy that we got the three points. It was really important for us to get back to winning ways.
“We aren’t used to losing and today we were much better. We scored some goals and we’re happy with the three points.”
The winger now has 16 goals in all competitions, including big moments in the Champions League, the Premiership and League Cup final.
Celtic remain on the hunt for a domestic treble and are also hoping to reach the knockout stages of the Champions League for the first time in over a decade.
And Kuhn is delighted with how things are going.
He said: “This is the best season that I’ve had but it’s also the best team that I’ve played in. All the teammates and the staff make it easier for me and I’m just happy to be here.”
He added: “I’m not focused on the numbers. We just have to perform and that’s what I try to do.
“For me, the most important thing is staying fit, that’s what I’ve always said and at the end it’s about winning trophies.”
