Novak Djokovic has trained with new coach Andy Murray for the first time in public ahead of the Australian Open.

Murray – who retired after the 2024 Olympics at the age of 37 – joined Djokovic’s team in November.

The two-time former Wimbledon champion spent 10 days with Djokovic before Christmas in preparation for the new season.

After not teaming up at the Brisbane International, Murray has now joined the Serbian at Melbourne Park.

On Tuesday, video footage from the Australian Open showed Murray keeping a close eye from behind the baseline as the 24-time Grand Slam winner was put through his paces on Margaret Court Arena.

Speaking about their partnership in an interview with the ATP Tour website last month, Djokovic said: “I think he is bringing a fresh look to my game and I think I will be able to benefit from that, no doubt, on the tennis court

“But also that kind of champion’s mentality that he has, I am sure that we will match very well.”

Djokovic is looking to win a record 25th Grand Slam crown by lifting what would be an 11th Australian Open title.
