Matt O’Riley is undergoing a medical with Celtic and is set to complete a £1.5m move from MK Dons.

The midfielder is expected to finalise a deal before this weekend’s Scottish Cup tie to become manager Ange Postecoglou’s fifth signing of the January transfer window.

O’Riley has caught the eye with seven goals and seven assists for MK Dons this season and was interesting a number of English Championship clubs but has opted to make the move to Glasgow.

The midfielder, a former England youth international, joined the Buckinghamshire club in the summer after leaving Fulham, where had come through the team’s youth academy.

Celtic have already signed Japanese trio Daizen Maeda, Shunsuke Ideguchi and Reo Hatate this month, as well as adding teenage striker Johnny Kenny from Sligo Rovers.
