Scotland Women’s Head Coach Pedro Martinez-Losa says they are open to ‘any possible solution’ to try and play the postponed World Cup qualifier against Ukraine.
The original tie was set to go ahead on April 8 but will instead now take place on June 24 due to the ongoing Russian invasion.
Martinez-Losa said: “At some point there’s more important than games of football, and I think we are in special circumstances where we show our solidarity to Ukraine and hopefully the conflict can be sorted.
“We are totally co-operative with FIFA to find the best option.
“We are open to any potential solution, the June window is the immediate solution that could be open and obviously we are happy that this solution has been given at the moment.
“I don’t have the answer I don’t know if the game is able to be played in June so so we are open to all the potential solutions to facilitate the game to be played.
“First I think as I insist there are things more important than a game of football that have to be sorted before and hopefully for the good of society that can be sorted.”
Martinez-Losa was speaking as he announced his 23 women squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifier against Spain.
The Dark Blues are second in the table, five points behind their next opponents.
“On his squad and the upcoming match he added: It’s a world cup qualifier so we need to prepare to win the game in front of our home crowd.
“This camp is preparing for the most competitive game against Spain.
“If they win they can qualify directly so they’ll be very ambitious in their preparation too.”
