Postecoglou hails Kyogo Furuhashi's 'magic' after Japan star's scoring return for Celtic at Ross County

Ange Postecoglou has hailed the impact of returning star Kyogo Furuhashi in Sunday’s win over Ross County.

The Japan forward netted the opener in his first start since December as Celtic moved another step closer to clinching the Scottish Premiership title.

Jota scored the other as the Hoops ran out 2-0 winners to renew their six-point lead over second placed Rangers with only four games remaining.

Furuhashi looked back to his best after missing most of the last four months with a hamstring injury and the manager was full of praise for the “magic” he brings to the side.

Speaking to Celtic TV, the Australian said: “He’s a hell of a player and most teams would miss a player like him.

“We’ve done really well and the whole group’s done well not to let injuries to him and others affect us.

“And he’s worked hard to get back, so it was great for him to get a start. He’s still not super-sharp, if he was he would probably have had three today.

“He has that little bit of magic about him, and hopefully that goal is a reward for him working hard to get back the team.”

Celtic only need two wins from their remaining four games, with three of those at home, to rubber stamp their 52nd league title.

Their +19 goal difference lead over Rangers means they could realistically clinch the title with a win over their Glasgow rivals at Celtic Park this coming weekend.

And Postecoglou knows it will be another clash that the support will be relishing.

He said: “We’ve got another game next week which I’m sure everyone is looking forward to. All we can do is keep playing our football, and keep winning games.

“If we keep doing that, then for all of us, we’ll get where we want to be.”
