Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has been named as Glen’s Premiership manager of the month for October.
The Australian led his side to four wins from five games last month, with Celtic moving up to second in the league table and just four points behind leaders Rangers.
October began with the team’s first away league victory since February when they beat Aberdeen 2-1 at Pittodrie and they quickly racked up another victory on the road with a 2-0 win at Motherwell in their next match.
St Johnstone were beaten 2-0 at Parkhead before the team made it three away wins on the bounce with a 3-1 win over Hibs. The unbeaten run continued in the final game of October when Celtic drew 0-0 with Livingston.
Postecoglou said: “It’s great to be recognised in this way as the Glen’s Premiership Manager of the Month but I’d like to thank the players, coaches and backroom staff for all of their efforts, as ever, whatever we achieve we do it together.
“Our football has been good and delivered some really positive results and will give us something to build on. We are grateful for the award but realise fully that we have only just started and now need to keep working hard and hopefully continue to progress and get better right across this season and beyond.”
With the league now on a break for international football, Postecoglou is preparing for the League Cup semi-final against St johnsteon on November 20.
“Obviously we want the boys that go away to do well, they’ve got some big games and we’ll wish them well, but hopefully they get through unscathed,” he told the club’s official website.
“At Lennoxtown some players will get a break because they’ve played quite a lot of football, others we need to get some work into.
“It’s an important period for us and there’s a massive game when we get back, so we’ll be ready for it.”
