Raith Rovers have sacked manager Barry Robson following the team’s defeat to Queen’s Park on Saturday.
The club has taken action after a fourth defeat in six games, which leaves the side sitting sixth in the Championship table.
A brief club statement read: “Raith Rovers Football Club can today announce that Barry Robson has been relieved of his duties as manager.
“In addition, assistant manager Andy Kirk will leave his position with immediate effect.
“Our thanks go to both for their time and effort during their time with us.”
Former Aberdeen manager Robson was appointed in December last year, succeeding Neil Collins when he left to take over at Sacramento Republic. The team were sitting mid-table when he took over and finished the season in fifth place, just outside the play-off places.
Robson was unable to deliver improvements this season, with only five wins from 14 games and the board has decided to make a change.
They will now look to recruit a replacement and make a push for promotion to the Premiership.
