Rangers have accused a section of their supporters of being “intent on causing damage to our club”.
The Ibrox club released a statement on Tuesday revealing they will address a “propaganda war” on the club at the end of the season.
It comes after Rangers’ fan group Club 1872 released a statement questioning the “competence” of the club’s board on Tuesday.
The fan group took aim at Rangers managing director Stewart Robertson, commercial director James Bisgrove and communications chief David Graham over their decision making.
Rangers responded with a statement of their own, claiming that a small group of “supporters” are attempting to ‘cause damage’ to the club.
The statement read: “The rest of this season is arguably one of the most crucial periods in our illustrious 150-year history.
“The Men’s First Team and Women’s Team are competing for major honours, both domestically and in Europe.
“It is deeply regrettable that the same small rump of “supporters” remains intent on causing damage to our club. It is particularly concerning to note the timing they have chosen to launch their latest attack.
“It is lost on nobody that those intent on creating maximum disruption are those who have either enjoyed, or craved, a role within our club.
“The collective desire of our Board, Management and players, is to have unity of purpose over the coming months. Rest assured, we will address the disruptors and their propaganda war at the end of this season.
“For now, nothing matters but results on the field.
“Together, we are stronger.”
It comes after fans of the Ibrox club showed anger at the club’s decision to play a friendly against Celtic in the inaugural Sydney Super Cup by disrupting the team’s Premiership match against Dundee with an organised protest.
Play had to be delayed after the away support threw tennis balls and toilet rolls down on to the pitch while chanting their opposition to the friendly.
