Rangers have confirmed that there will be full capacity at Ibrox Stadium for their Champions League qualifying match next week.
In a statement on Thursday, the club explained that the stadium would be at full capacity “going forward”, subject to conditions set out by the Safety Advisory Group of Glasgow City Council.
The club said that they will soon be contacting season ticket holders to confirm the process for ticket allocation for the match against Malmo on Tuesday night.
It comes after First Minister Nicola Sturgeon earlier this week confirmed that Scotland will move ‘beyond level zero’ from Monday, August 9, with most restrictions set to be eased.
The wearing of face masks however will still be required in most public places, whilst there are mitigations in place for secondary school pupils.
A spokesman for Glasgow City Council said: “The council is working with clubs to confirm the return of stadiums to full capacity from August 9.
“This takes into account the steps clubs have taken to implement control measures to support the safe return of spectators, with crowds increasing gradually at Level 0 – as well as a range of mitigation measures that are still necessary.”
