Rangers fans face “ludicrous” ticket prices ahead of the Europa League final in Seville as third party websites advertise match seats for nearly £10,000.
The Ibrox club booked their place at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium on May 18 after Thursday night’s thrilling 3-1 victory against RB Leipzig.
On Friday, tickets for the match against Eintracht Frankfurt went on sale for a maximum price of €100 last week, with a number of seats with restricted views being given away by UEFA for free.
With just 9,500 tickets being made available for the final, Rangers supporters who missed out on the original ballot are now facing soaring prices to attend the match.
One fan told STV News: “I booked flights and a hotel for Seville three weeks ago when we beat Braga.
“I’ve been trying to get tickets in the ballot but just missed out.
“I would easily pay £600 or £700 pound for a ticket but £1,500 is ludicrous.
“Some fans will no doubt pay those prices but it just pushes others away.
“We’ll be out there in the fan zone anyway.”
Another Rangers fan revealed they are now facing having to pay over £1,000 for a ticket – after also missing out on the original ballot.
They said: “The lowest tickets I’ve now seen are about £1,250 and I think I’m just going to have to do it because its once in a lifetime”.
On ticket resale website Livefootballtickets.com, seats for the match are starting at £1,398 for Category Three tickets – which should cost just €65.
For Category One tickets, which are originally priced at €100, prices are now rising to £9,999.
Both Rangers and UEFA have been contacted for comment.
