Rangers have been fined by UEFA over the behaviour of fans during the Europa League semi-final win over RB Leipzig in May.

European football’s governing body called the club to account after objects were thrown from the stand, and also punished the club over the “lighting of fireworks”.

UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body imposed a fine of just over £5,000 for the two incidents.

It’s the latest in a series of fines for the Ibrox clubs over incidents in European competition. The club was also punished over fan behaviour in the away match against Leipzig as well as games against Red Star Belgrade, Lyon and Brondby last season.

Rangers enjoyed a successful season on the park in Europe, reaching the Europa League final in Seville but missing out on the trophy after a penalty shoot-out defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.
