Rangers are in talks to sign Nedim Bajrami on a season-long loan deal from Italian side Sassuolo.
The attacking midfielder, who played and scored for Albania at this summer’s European Championship, has earned 26 caps for his country.
Manager Philippe Clemnet is keen to add to his squad before the transfer window closes on Friday and the Ibrox club held dissuasions with Sassuolo over a possible transfer for the 25-year-old.
Meanwhile, Todd Cantwell is moving closer to leaving Rangers in a £500,000 move to Blackburn Rovers after holding talks with the English Championship side today.
The midfielder, who submitted a transfer request earlier this year, is set for a fresh challenge.
Rangers have also attracted interest from Norwich City for Rabbi Matondo, but they have rejected the Canaries bid to sign the winger on a season-long loan deal.
